Mackinac Island, Michigan

We ventured to Mackinac (pronounced MACK-in-aw) island for a couple of days, an island situated between the Upper and Lower Peninsulas. It was a fun little jaunt. Here is a view from the famous colonial Fort Mackinac, looking over the famous colonial golf course. This is the only picture on this Blog that Annabel is not in, only because she is taking this photo.

It was quite rainy to begin with, so to avoid getting poured on awaiting the ferry, we spent some time practicing U-turns in the parking lot. Annabel doesn't like hands on 10 and 2. She prefers palming the wheel at what appears to be 7 and 9.

We arrived safely but quite wet, except for the well-dressed Bear. Then it was time for dinner.

This is what you have to do, sometimes, in order to keep her more interested in being silent and less interested in ending dinner.

The next day was much better weather, so we strolled downtown. And we spent some time at the fort.

Then we went to Mission Point.

Waiting for the ferry home. Note how her hat fits her head compared with 6/28/08. She scratches her head in bewilderment.
